Same old, Same old

This song is part of my Sandbox.

The Sandbox is where I experiment with sound, structure, and production techniques without the pressure of writing "finished" songs or telling a bigger story.

For every Sandbox track, I use lyrics generated from the same simple prompt: "Give me any lyric you find interesting. Something bluesy. A story. Nothing romantic. Situational. Daily life."

I do this on purpose.

By working with generic lyrics, I can focus on how a song feels, how space and movement work, how the voice behaves, and how different styles and ideas change the same kind of text.

This is a place to test ideas, refine my process, and learn by doing.

Think of it as a sketchbook. Public, honest, and experimental.

Ain't nobody's business but my own Don't mean no one don't try to take a peek There's just some things you gotta do alone I only do 'em 'bout every other week Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease When I'm comin' off a bender Sometimes I look around and all I see Are the scars that I can show you And the ones that I can't I won't But It's just the same old Same old Same old Same old Well A man gets by any way he can 'Til he can't And then he drinks and then he smokes But a man that knows he's doin' all he can Knows he can't He gets high on his own hopes But sometimes the cure is worse than the disease When I'm comin' off a bender Sometimes I look around and all I see Are the scars that I can show you And the ones that I can't I won't But It's just the same old Same old Same old Same old And when it gets too dark to see I don't look down at where I am Or where I've been When it gets too hard to breathe I just close my eyes And I try to think of better times Way back when Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease When I'm comin' off a bender Sometimes I look around and all I see Are the scars that I can show you And the ones that I can't I won't But It's just the same old Same old Same old Same old It's just the same old Same old Same old Same old
